  CJ & DJ 6-month Diapers Party
Held a large party to introduce Darren and Christopher to friends, co-workers, and neighbors.  In true fashion, Ryan served up 3 rib roasts, 25 Cornish game hens, and 10 side dishes for everyone.  We would like to thank everyone for the diapers, clothing & toys we received. CJ and DJ have enough diapers to last them until they are potty trained.  CJ & DJ behaved very well, meeting and being held by our guests.  CJ apologizes for any spit-up he may have caused.		  
   
  Welcome Christopher Jordan and Darren Jacob!
Our surrogacy process was a success.  Born on 11/2/2012, Christopher Jordan and Darren Jacob are a new addition to the LeKodak family.  We are elated and blessed to have such healthy and handsome boys.  Here is the start of our photo album of the two little guys documenting our time in Mumbai India, and the first month with CJ and DJ.		  
   
  Carrell Family Visit - Labor Day Weekend 2012
Tiffany, Brandon, Isabelle, Oliver, and Trina came to visit us the Labor Day weekend.  They got to visit a ton of different parks including Lego Land, Sea World, Disney's California Adventure, the San Diego Zoo, and the beach.  It was packed full of fun!  Squeezed in a little swimming too, and got the TMZ inside scoop on Oli's new blockbuster movie, Falcon Boy.		  
   
  Visit to India - March 2012
My trip to Mumbai, India to meet our surrogacy clinic, our surrogate, and to start the process of having a family.  It was a pleasant trip overall.  Long flight, but comfortable.  Very hot during my visit, and I did get some bug bites.  But after exploring the city for about a week, I'm happy I went.  It truly is remarkable.		  
   
  Chau & Mike Visit - February 2012
A quick weekend vist by Chau, Mike, Zac and Max.  Beach fun time, hanging out at the pool, learning about parenting, and getting pointers from some of the coolest parents ever.		  
   
  Cabo Trip - February 2012
Short weekend trip to Cabo San Lucas with Ryan's family.  Hung out by the pool and ate so much good food with Lorrie, Tho and Nicky.  Even water aerobics didn't seem to help, as we came back stuffed to the hilt.  Would we do it again?  You betcha!		  
   
  Christmas in Oregon & Sacramento - December 2011
Got to visit my sister Tiffany, Brandon, Isabelle and Oliver at their new home in Eugene, OR.  It was such a nice Christmas break seeing everyone and catching up.  Stopped in at Sacramento on the trip up and back.  With a short side trip to Napa with Lorrie, Tho and family.		  
   
  Thanksgiving in Sacramento - November 2011
The annual trip to Sacramento to hang out with family, cook a fantastic roast, do some holiday shopping, and generally over eat.  This year was no different.		  
   
  China & Hong Kong Trip - September 2011
The trip that we've been waiting all year for.  A two week trip to parts of China and Hong Kong with Ryan, Oanh, mamma and me.  We started out in Beijing, saw the great wall, experienced the forbidden city, and lots of other stuff.  Traveled to Xian to see the terracotta warriors.  Then onto Gulin to see the stunning mountains and Li river.  Ending up with a week in Hong Kong to experience the culture of that city.  A more detailed day-by-day travel log awaits you.		  
   
  Ryan's QRE Farwell Party - July 2011
Ryan put on his chef hat and cooked a fabulous lunch for his coworkers from Qualcomm Quality & Reliability Engineering. Menu includes Prime Rib Roast, Game Hens, and all the delicious side dishes, plus two cakes (one cake to celebrate Sandra and Larry Petzen's 26th Anniversary...Congrats Sandra and Larry!!!)
Everyone ate, drank, mingled and had a great time. Ryan will miss everyone as he moves on with the next chapter of his career at Qualcomm as a Sr IT Project Manager managing Engineering Compute projects. Thank You QRE for the past 7 years! Use your systems daily!  Ryan poured his heart into each and every one of them: AT, CAR, FA, FMEA, LEADSCAN, ORM, QUAL TRACKER, QIMS, etc.  THANK YOU!		  
   
  Miami Vacation - July 2011
What a wonderful Miami vacation with family.  Really enjoyed the time in South Beach with Tho, Nick, and Lorrie.  It was Tho's birthday and he got an awesome tattoo.  Lorrie introduced us to pizza, gelato, paella, expensive prosciutto, steak, crepes, and practically every food cuisine in South Beach.  And Nick was being all goofy and even challenged a robot kid performer (and won).  And he got an awesome hair style to boot!  The beach was awesome, the water was gorgeous, the sun was hot and burning, and the shopping was divine.		  
   
  Nick's 12th Birthday - May 2011
Happy Birthday Nick!  Picture of our family visit up to Sacramento where mom cooked wonderful food, Eric came face-to-face with a whole roast pig, and Nick got all sorts of lucrative birthday presents.		  
   
  Oanh's Visit - February 2011
A quick visit from Oanh to California.  Went up to see Yen and Oanh in Westminster.  Hung out and ate lots of fish, shopped at South Coast Plaza, then went to eat some more lobster!  Stuffed!		  
   
  New Year's Eve Party - December 2010
The traditional party that we throw for friends and co-workers.  This year was a blast with Ryan cooking roast, ham, Cornish game hens, and a whole lot of everything!  Was fantastic to see so many people and have fun on the last day of the year.		  
   
  Thanksgiving in Sacramento - November 2010
Back up to Sacramento for Thanksgiving with the family.  Not too much shopping this year, but man it was fun.  Ryan cooked a wonderful assortment (as usual) but the Turkey from Lucile's BBQ was very good!  So where Lorrie's Harry (minus the & David) potatoes.  Can't wait for mom to come back from Vietnam and share stories.		  
   
  Sacramento Visit - October 2010
Visiting Sacramento to see the family, and momma before she heads off to Vietnam.  Drove up with Yen, ate at a wonderful breakfast place in LA on the way.  Then lots of visiting and food (lots of food) while we were up there.  It was wonderful to visit everyone and we can't wait to come back up during Thanksgiving!		  
   
  Miami Vacation and Caribbean Cruise - August 2010
A wonderful relaxing vacation to the Caribbean!  With a quick pre-vacation to South Beach Miami.  Ryan and I went with our good friends, Warren and Jennifer.  We had an absolute blast visiting Princess Cays, St. Maarten (Dutch side), St. Thomas, and Grand Turk.  Lots of window shopping, learned a ton about expensive watches, got a lot of sun, and had a great time stuffing our faces and playing in the water.  Only our 2nd cruise, and this was vastly more enjoyable!		  
   
  Le Family Vacation - July 2010
Everyone showed up for the Le Family vacation at the beautiful Le Kodak Resort & Spa!  Beach, paddle boating, relaxing in the spa, a nice fire at night, mission by beach trip, Coronado beach sun tanning, and even Disneyland!  What a action-packed week!  Happy 6th Birthday for Faye, and congratulations to Dr. Le.		  
   
  July 4th Weekend - July 2010
It's turning out to be a great July 4th weekend with the kids.  Already went to the SD fair, gobbled down some great food.  Rides too, but Ryan ended up loosing his wallet on a rollercoaster.  Tomorrow it's beach time!		  
   
  Yen Le's Graduation - June 2010
Hooray!  Yen (excuse me) Dr. Le graduated from Glendale Adventist Medical Center as a full family practice doctor.  We're so proud of Yen and her accomplishment.  Sylvie & the kids joined the festivities where we met her graduating group of residents, some of the staff, and other 1st and 2nd year residents.  Afterwards, we took Yen to Santa Monica restaurant which we had tried to eat at months earlier.  But just as we were sitting down, Yen got paged to help deliver a baby for on of her patients.  This time there were no such worries.		  
   
  Cherry Picking - June 2010
Jennifer wanted to get the group together to pick some cherries before she popped in a couple of weeks.  It sounded fun and we haven't picked cherries for a long time.  We sent to the place just outside of Palmdale, and the parking lot was packed!  People everywhere because it was opening weekend.  1st disappointment - the rainier cherries were not ripe yet.  2nd disappointment - it was hot, dusty, and most of the cherries were not ripe.  Anyway, it was still a very fun adventure.		  
   
  Jennifer's Baby Shower - March 2010
We threw a wonderful baby shower for Jennifer, Jim, both of their parents, friends, family, and co-workers at our house.  Ryan made his fabulous spread, and Eric arranged the baby games ... including "guess the poopy-chocolate diaper."  :)  Spent Sunday with Jim's parents touring Coronado.  It was wonderful to see everyone again, and we wish nothing but the best for Jen, Jim, and their new baby boy.  Now pick a name other than Stewie.  NEWS!  The world welcomes Evan Stewart Protsenko on 6/28/2010.  Jim's photos here.		  
   
  New Year's Eve Party - January 2010
I can't believe it's 2010 already.  Had some friends and co-workers over to the house for a nice party, with some staying the night to ring in the new year.  It's always great to catch up, watch the ball drop, and then hang out the next day.  Would like to thank Jen, Jim, Sylvie, Nathan, Becky, Denise, Dave, Heather and Hailey for a fun-filled weekend.  Jim's photos here.		  
   
  Christmas Eve and Weekend - December 2009
Went up to see Yenny for Christmas eve, and also to see the movie Avatar in 3D.  Wow, it was awesome.  Afterwards, Yenny took us to Newport Seafood in San Gabriel.  The place was packed, but we got to meet up with Sylvie, Anna (who was visiting from Texas), Becky, and Nathan.  It was great to see them again.  And they also came down for Christmas day and some post-Christmas fun.		  
   
  Hailey's 6th Birthday Party - December 2009
Hailey has turned six this year, and it was up to Mission Viejo to celebrate.  Hourses were the theme, but we gave Hailey some very challenging puzzles that we'll see if she can complete before her 7th birthday!  We all went out to dinner then for 8-course fish in Westminster.  Yummy!		  
   
  Thanksgiving in Sacramento - November 2009
And a Thanksgiving visit to Ryan's family as well in Sacramento.  Good turkey, roast, and other food.  Mom cooked some fantastic crab and other dishes.  Shopping with Nicky, Asia, Sonia and Faye was super fun.  And we got to show off the new Sprint phones to Lorrie and Tho to compare it to their iPhones.  It was a very relaxing time.		  
   
  Thanksgiving in Ashland - November 2009
A Thanksgiving week trip up to see Eric's mom and dad in Ashland, OR.  We got to hang out with everyone, including aunt Sharron and uncle Douglas.  And also met Joe.  Also visited mom's new place which was very very nice.  Thanksgiving dinner over at dad's with Robin.  Lots of fun to see everyone, and we hope to visit more often.		  
   
  Halloween in San Marcos - October 2009
Great Halloween night in San Marcos.  Dave, Denise, Hailey and Heather came to visit and trick-or-treating around the neighborhood.  Ryan dressed as Santa that "due to the economy Santa has to work Halloween this year."  All the kids stared in wonder as Santa handed out candy.  Denise stayed home to hand out candy too dressed as a sexy witch.  Dave, dressed as Aja the tiger, and Eric took the kids out.  Eric dressed as a loaf of Wonder Bread (all the kids didn't know what I was but the adults did).  Heather was Jasmine and Hailey was a cat.		  
   
  Day Trip to Solvang - September 2009
Just a spontaneous day-trip up to Solvang.  Was expecting to go up for FrancFest (Cabernet Franc wine varietal) but it turned out to be the start of Danish Day's festival all weekend.  We picked up Jen on the way up, and all three of us had a great time exploring the town.  Man was it hot, but my souvenir Viking hat made it all worthwhile!		  
   
  Sonia, Asia & Faye Visit - September 2009
A great Labor day weekend visit from Sonia, Asia & Faye.  It's been over a year and boy has Faye grown into a dancing manic.  Asia is 13 now and into teenager stuff, but still had a ton of fun.  We hung out at the beach, went up to LA to visit Yenny and took at trip to Griffith Observatory.  Faye really enjoyed the planets and the planetarium show.  Lots of food, fun, and catching up with our two favorite nieces.  		 
   
  BBQ and Reunion - July 2009
A reunion with Ngan, Ann, Denise and Ryan and all the hubbies.  All the kids had lots of fun chowing down hot dogs, dipping in the pool, and playing together.  Adults chowed down on prime steaks from the grill and Ryan's crafty cooking.  Everyone looks fabulous as we head into our forties (in a couple of years).		  
   
  Visit from Ryan's Family - July 2009
A fantastic week-long visit from Ryan's family.  Lorrie, Tho, Nicky, and Sierra were visiting for the fun of Universal Studios.  Momma was originally going to stay with us during the week, but a surprise visit from Binh, Yvonne, and Kobe had momma going to Vegas with them during the week.  Dao and Cole also flew down, our weekend complete.  Everyone enjoyed the spa backyard, the sun, and the nice relaxing visit.		  
   
  A Visit from Minh - April 2009
Minh, a famous Hollywood hot-shot and good high school buddy of Ryan's, was in town and stoped by for a quick visit.  Took Minh on the usual tour of San Diego (although it was a bit chilly outside) and Ryan had a good chance to catch up.  We discussed Minh's idea for a cool new movie script, and he listened to Ryan's ideas about making a movie about his mom.  It was a lively chat.  But momma's movie idea went nowhere!		  
   
  Party with Friends and Co-Workers - March 2009
Had lots of friends and a few more of Ryan's co-workers over to show them the house.  Turned out to be an awesome day to hang out, eat the abundance of food that Ryan cooked, and catch up with some old friends we haven't seen in such a long time.  Included here are photos from Arnold who took some candid snaps throughout the party.		  
   
  Chau, Mike and Zack Visit - February 2009
Chau and Mike come and visit our new house with Zack.  It was Zack's first road trip / night away from home ever.  The weather didn't cooperate, and we didn't get to do many activities in the back yard.  Zack was also sick during the party with friends and other kids on Sunday.  We wanted to entice Zack with the fire pit, but Zack made a suggestion that the fire "be inside."  Zack is so cute and bright / observant.  Come and visit us again anytime!		  
   
  New Year's Eve / Day - December 2008 / January 2009
Wow!  It's 2009 already.  We had a great party with Jen, Jim, Dave, Denise, Hailey, Heather and the kitties to ring in the new year!  So why are there nude Barbies on our beach front entry?  New Years day was warm enough to thoroughly enjoy the new spa, and Heather & Hailey took full advantage!  Still working on the resolutions, but we've got some time for that.  :)		  
   
  Simone & James Visit - December 2008
With the completion of our house, former co-worker (and very good friend!) Simone and her husband James came to visit.  It was a great day in San Diego and we took Simone and James to all of our favorite spots!  Too cold to hang out in the back yard and enjoy the spa ... you'll have to schedule a visit in the summer!		  
   
  Christmas with Friends - December 2008
Hanging out at with Dave, Denise, and friends for Christmas day and dinner.  It was relaxing and a great way to check in with Hailey and Heather; especially learn what sort of Christmas presents they got.  And we were shocked by the talking / acting dog that responds to voice commands.		  
   
  Holiday Party - December 2008
Our house is done and it's time to party!  Holiday party that is.  Friends, co-workers, and neighbors all got together this Saturday.  Ryan cooked up some good food, we had lots of wonderful wine, and a relaxing time enjoying the sun and outdoors.  Thank you to all who came, and thank you for the wonderful gifts.  Wishing everyone the best for the upcoming holidays with your family and friends.		  
   
  Landscape Project September - December 2008
Our landscape project in a photo history.  Man was it stressful, but it turned out to be our dream backyard.  Carrying the Spanish theme outside, we decided to create a oasis of low-maintenance plants, complete with outdoor fireplace and spa.  From the hand-painted Spanish mural on our water-wall, to the magnificent aloe tree in our front; you are entering tranquility as you step through our doors.  Why look over there ... it's Ryan relaxing now ... Ha-Za!		  
   
  Hailey's 5th Birthday - December 2008
We wouldn't dream of missing Hailey's Birthday party, and this year turned out to be quite lucrative for her.  Not only did she get ponies, cool cloths, a singing Barbie, awesome Teddy Ruxpin, and a bitchen Princess Bike; Haily and Heather also made a new friend with a dinosaur.  Remember to feed him, and rub his chin.  He likes that.		  
   
  Thanksgiving in Sacramento - November 2008
Thanksgiving time again, and since our place was not finished, we decided to head up to Sacramento to see Ryan's family. This year we experienced Turduckin ... chicken, inside a duck, inside a turkey.  Not all it was marketed as, but now we know.  Ryan and I also did a quick day-trip to UC Davis to see the campus.  Too bad it was raining.  Kobe is walking, dancing, and generally full of energy.		  
   
  Madonna Concert - November 2008
We bought tickets to the Madonna concert at Petco Park the day they were offered, and have been waiting and waiting for that day to come.  Election night, we headed down town to the concert.  Awesome seats and lots of people watching.  Madonna puts on a great show.  We loved all of her old songs, and she performed some new ones from Hard Candy.  No Britney or Justin ... but the stadium went wild when she cheered for Obama.		  
   
  1st Halloween In New House - October 2008
Our first Halloween in our new house.  Lots of trick-or-treaters, and some super-cute costumes ... including a little girl dressed like a pink sheep; her mom as Bo-Peep.  Too cute!  We were home passing out candy.  Ryan had an awesome fat Pizza Man outfit while I was dressed like Harry Potter.		  
   
  Lorrie, Tho and Nicky Visit San Diego - September 2008
Lorrie, Tho and Nicky head down for a weekend to visit our new house in San Diego.  Although a slight allergy to the cats (Tiger and Dexter love you Lorrie), everything was posh and to their satisfaction.  It was off to Coronado beach for breakfast and a beach stroll, then meeting up with Yenny for a night out in the Gaslamp area.		  
   
  Mom's 70th Birthday Celebration - September 2008
Up to Sacramento for mom's 70th birthday bash.  Happy Birthday Mom!!!  Visiting with all the family.  Combined this with a bay area visit to catch up with friends & and to check in on Mike and Chao with their "terror" Zac.  Overall a great 3-day weekend for us.		  
   
  Heather's 3rd Birthday Party - August 2008
It's that time of year again for the birthday girl, who get's lots of cake and presents!  Happy birthday Heather Hernandez!  This year's theme was all about education, as Heather (with a little help from Hailey) opened all the educational books we got her.  But we were outdone by the cutest Barbie tea set (drats!)  After Heather distributed cake to everyone, it was time to make our own party favors, and boy wait until you see what everyone came up with!  D&D, thanks for the delicious Vietnamese food!		  
   
  Pete & Steve Visit - August 2008
Pete, one of Ryan's former co-workers, and his partner Steve visit us in San Diego from their home in Palm Springs.  We had a blast all weekend long, showing them our favorite hangouts, eating at some of our favorite restaurants, and visiting some of the best sights in San Diego.  We sure hope you guys consider moving here!  And we can't wait to come visit you in Palm Springs (once it's less hot :p)  		 
   
  Dad's Visit to San Diego - August  2008
Dad's first visit to our house in San Diego, accompanied by Yenny.  It was a great weekend showing Dad around the town, visiting our favorite spots.  We also had a great BBQ with Sylvie and the kids on Saturday at our house.  Dao also visited earlier in the week, with Mike and Cole!		  
   
  Mom's San Diego Visit - July 2008
Mom's visit to San Diego since we moved from the Bay Area, and what a fun-filled, 4-day visit it was!  We started off with a trip downtown, then to Balboa park and the SD Art Museum.  Eating at fabulous places along the way of course!  Coronado breakfast, La Jolla lunch, and a little beach walk in between.  Then a great Saturday at Catalina Island ... the first visit for all of us!  We wished mom could have stayed longer and hope she visits us every year.		  
   
  4th of July Weekend - July 2008
A nice visit from Sonia, Faye, and Asia for the sunny and fun 4th of July weekend!  Yenny (who is now 2nd year at Glendale Aventis Medical!) also joined up for the weekend.  We went to the beach and hung out with lots of friends.  On Saturday we had a great house BBQ which we invited everyone too, and on Sunday it was a trip to the San Diego Country Fair.  It was the last day for the fair, and we got to eat the main attraction ... the Krispy Kreme deep-fried chicken sandwich.  Yummy!		  
   
  Tiffany & Brandon's Wedding - May 2008
Congratulations to Tiffany and Brandon on their wedding!  They decided to have the ceremony in beautiful San Diego, and Ryan & I played host.  Trina, Rich, and Brandon's daughter Isabelle visited from Nebraska; and Phil & Robin flew in from Oregon.  The weather was awesome for the ceremony on the Hornblower bay cruise.  We also took everyone sight-seeing at the beach, La Jolla, Coronado, Sea World and other beautiful spots.  We wish Tiffany, Brandon & Isabelle all the best!		  
   
  Pre-Housewarming & Easter Roast - March 2008
Had some close friends over for a pre-housewarming and Easter celebration.  Ryan cooked his first roast, which came out extremely yummy!  We gave the kids Easter baskets filled with chocolate and jelly beans, two of their favorite (aka bad) things.  A quick walk down to the near-by park for the kids to climb and slide.  We were so excited to show everyone our house, and what we have done with it so far.		  
   
  Hailey's Birthday Party - December 2007
Hailey turned four this year, and it was super fun to head up to Mission Viejo to her birthday party!  This year was extra special with a wild animal show, where we got to see, touch, and hold all sorts of exotic animals.  Animals like wallabies, snakes, lizards, spiders, and other creepy-crawly creatures.  It was awesome!  And then Hailey tore into her birthday cake and presents.		  
   
  Thanksgiving in Sacramento - November 2007
Another year past and it was up to Lorrie's in Sacramento for Thanksgiving with Ryan's family.  Early Christmas gifts for the kids, and some excellent cooking by Ryan.  This year it was both a turkey and a prime rib roast, and we didn't even have to lug all the kitchenware up this year.  Hooray!  It was so nice to hang out with Lorrie, Tho, Nickee, Sonia, Faye, Asia, Lisa, Author, Cameron, Cynthia, Binh, Yvonne, and the new addition to the family - Kobe.  Ryan and I also took a short side-trip to SF to see the lighting of the tree in Union Square and for some city shopping..		  
   
  Qualcomm Party - October 2007
Another year, another Qualcomm party!  This time at the La Jolla Hyatt, with slightly better food but a more cramped venue.  Chau & Mike, Jen & Jim visited for the party, staying to visit San Diego for Saturday.  It's always fun to catch up, learn about Zac growing up (and the fun parenting stories from Chau & Mike), and party with friends.  We took everyone to see some $M mansions in Poway on Saturday ... part of Ryan's dream house tour. 		 
   
  Las Vegas, Grand Canyon & Sedona - October 2007
A fun extended weekend trip with Jen & Jim to Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon and Sedona Arizona.  We got to see the Blue Man Group as our Vegas show, which was awesome, then it was up early to drive to the Grand Canyon.  It's vastness astounded up and the beauty of it's old, majestic lodges was nice.  Then a trop to Sedona for the Pink Jeep tour over hilly terrain and red rocks, and a visit to Indian ruins topped off the trip.  Good food, good company, and some places that we're really looking forward to visiting again.  (panoramic landscape pictures to be posted soon)		  
   
  Jen & Jim + Parents Visiting LA, SD and Mexico - August 2007
What a treat to have Jen, Jim, and his parents visit us all the way from the Ukraine.  We haven't seen Jim's parents since Jen & Jim's wedding in Hawaii, May 2005.  And what a weekend visit it was.  On Saturday we hung out with Yenny and watched the Bourne Supremacy at the Archlight dome theater in Hollywood.  Then it was off to the Getty (which we visited exactly two years ago) to meet up with Jen, Jim, his parents, Dave, Denise, Heather, and Hailey!  A quick trip around the museum and some fun on the lawn, with dinner at the Getty that evening.  Sunday it was the San Diego Wild Animal park for adventure with animals.  Boy was it hot, and we were disappointed we didn't get to see any lions or tigers.  On Monday it was off to Tijuana Mexico to a quick trip across the border, then a short cab ride to Rosarito beach to check out the beautiful pier and everything.  We even made it down to Puerto Nuevo for some lobster lunch.  Boy were we tired when we got back.  Lots of food and fun the entire 3-days.		  
   
  Glendale, Griffith Park, and Hollywood with Yenny - August 2007
Yippee!  Yenny moved from Downey to Glendale (well, close enough even though she has an LA address) for her residency at Glendale Aventis.  Yenny showed us around her new hood.  We got to visit Griffith Observatory (hiking up to it) in Griffith Park - mere minutes from Yenny's swank apartment.  Then it was off to La Brea for the tar pits, some Hollywood stoppage, eating at Asia in Glendale, downtown Glendale, and some desert at the House of Pies!  What a fun-filled Saturday.  Both Ryan and I enjoyed it so much, we're going to end up visiting Yenny more often.		  
   
  Faye-Faye, Sonia, & Asia Visit to San Diego - August 2007
A visit from Faye, Sonia & Asia to San Diego for some fun, food, sun, birthday party, and beach!  On Friday we went to Torrey Pines beach, soaked up the sun and body surfed.  On Saturday, went up to Dave & Denise for Heather's 2nd birthday party.   Happy birthday Heather!  Sunday was all about the Zoo, where Faye and Asia got acquainted with their "wild side".  Please visit us again soon!  		 
   
  Quang, Sara & Morgan Visit SD - July 2007
Quang, Sara, and their new baby Morgan get a chance to visit us in San Diego.  It was a fun-packed day with a visit to La Jolla & Extraordinary Deserts for the day.  Morgan is so cute and alert. enjoying her stroll along the La Jolla coast.  Come and visit us any time, it was a blast!  Our new doctor in the family, Yenny, came down for a visit too before joining the residency program in Glendale.		  
   
  Oanh Visits San Diego - June 2007
A fantastic short visit from Ryan's sister, Oanh.  Flying out from Austin Texas, she *finally* gets to visit us here in sunny San Diego.  Being the gracious hosts we are, Oanh got a whirl-wind tour of San Diego's finest.  La Jolla, George's at the cove, Ruth Chris, Extraordinary Deserts, a visit to momma, and a stroll along Coronado Beach.  We wish that Oanh had more time to stay!		  
   
  Paris - May 2007
We decided to do a quick Paris trip this year, spending just seven days to explore the entire city.  Armed with books on tape to learn the language, and guide books of the city, we only had three weeks to prepare for the trip.  Here’s our Paris trip chronologically, with links to various photo folders for “easy” consumption.  Trust us … there are about 1400 pictures in total.  Click on the picture to start.		  
   
  Faye-Faye's Visit to LA - April 2007
Faye visits LA to see grandma.  With a ride down to LA, Faye got to see all the sights ... Uncle Tuan's house in Alta Loma, the pier at Huntington Beach, and a visit to Cheesecake factory.  Yummy!  We love you Faye-Faye!		  
   
  Easter Weekend at Lisa's - April 2007
Yeah!  Spring is here, and what better way to celebrate than Easter with Ryan's family.  We headed up to San Jose to stay with Lisa who was having an Easter egg hunt and birthday celebration for Cameron - he's turning 5!  Everyone was there and we got some good pictures.  We're looking forward to the next visit, and the arrival of Yvonne and Binh's baby boy in May.		  
   
  Sacramento & Tahoe Ski Trip - March 2007
We took a visit to Sacramento to see Lorrie and the whole gang.  Sonia, Faye and Asia also came up from the bay area.  It was a fun-filled weekend with a quick trip to Boreal to get in some snowboarding lessons.  Ryan and Sonia liked the lessons and was getting pretty good at snowboarding.  Faye was just being cool hanging out in the snow.  Then it was off to Boomtown for lobster!  Binh, Lorrie and Tho also won big at the tables.		  
   
  Jen & Jim New House Visit - March 2007
A visit to Jen & Jim to check out their new house.  No, it's not that one in the picture, but it's very very nice.  Overlooking the Valencia valley, close to work, and close to Six Flags, it's pretty much ideal.  Ryan gave some decorating instructions, and Yenny was there to visit as well.  We're wishing you all the best of lucky Yenny!		  
   
  Bay Area Weekend Visit - March 2007
A visit to the Bay Area to see Faye, Sonia, Asia, and family.  It's was the first time we've been able to see our niece, Faye.  She is so adorable and bright!  Got some great pictures of Faye riding the cars at the mall, and dining with the family.		  
   
  Asia Visits & Universal Studios with Family - February 2007
A fun-filled visit with Asia, who was excited to come down and visit us in San Diego.  We had a great weekend, with a trip to Universal Studios Hollywood. (park map here)  Yenny and Lisa's family also attended, as they were about to embark on a Mexico cruise from Long Beach!  (What a fantastic way to start the vacation)  We also went ice skating the night Asia arrived.  Ryan chickened out, and it was Eric's first time on skates!		  
   
  LA Visit - December 2006
A great visit with mom and Yenny in LA.  Ryan has always wanted to see Rodeo Drive, and Yenny has always wanted to eat at Pinks Hot Dogs.  So, a combined trip it was with us stuffing our faces with Pinks and then some window shopping.  The line at Pinks was very long and the hot dogs (in Eric's opinion) weren't that great.  They do have quite a menu (see PDF version).  Only in LA can a hotdog be this pricy!		  
   
  Mom & Yenny Visit - December 2006

  Hailey's 3rd Birthday Party - December 2006
A trip up to Dave and Denise for Hailey's 3rd birthday party.  We like to shower her with gifts ... mainly with lots of small, Lego-like pieces that Dave and Denise need to pick up daily.  But this year it was all about Rachael Ray and having Hailey experience the Dora The Explorer Kitchen.  Now Hailey can host her own dinner parties ... on $40 a Day.  Hooray!  Remember to invite your two favorite uncles from San Diego!		  
   
  Thanksgiving 2006
Yeah!  Time for a family get-together in Sacramento.  So Ryan and I packed up a rental Navigator, picked up Mom and Yenny, and headed up to Lorrie's house in Sacramento for a big Thanksgiving dinner bash!  Ryan's sole task was to prepare an elegant feast for the entire family.  Cooking non-stop, he delivered a wonderful spread of Thanksgiving dishes!  Will he do it again next year?  Absolutely .... NOT!  Short trip to San Francisco for some shopping in Union Square and dinner at Fisherman's Warf.  Pictures from Tho are here.		  
   
  Halloween 2006
Halloween was upon us, so we got out our Martha Stewart hats and decided to impress the neighbors this year with our pumpkin carving skills.  Okay, Ryan really carved all the pumpkins, but Eric picked out the templates.  We were all ready to expect lots of trick-or-treaters but only got FIVE kids!  So much leftover candy.  We didn't dress up at all this year, but next year it might be different.		  
   
  Qualcomm Party - October 2006
Yeah!  Time for another Qualcomm party!  This year it was held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and wasn't quite as extravagant as last year's event.  Jim was late, but it didn't stop us from having lots of fun!  Chau, Mike, Jen, and Jim came down for the party and spent a fun-filled weekend in San Diego.  Chau looks great with her belly, and is due in February.  Also, congratulations to Jen and Jim's new house in So Cal.  Close enough for us to visit more often, yeah!  Yummy fish dinner in the Omni Hotel and a walk around the Gaslamp area topped off the weekend.  Mike put on his history hat and showed the gang the old St. James Hotel, now the Ramada.  A ride up in a very, very old elevator to the roof-top deck was very nice.  Photos from Jen & Jim's camera here.		  
   
  Heather Hernandez 1st Birthday - August 2006
While Lorrie, Tho, Nickee and Yennie were visiting, we went to Dave & Denise for Heather's 1st Birthday!  Happy birthday, Heather!  Yummy cake and food, and a nice dip in the pool.  Wonderful visit with Dave and Denise's family members too.  Presents and wrapping paper galore!		  
   
  San Diego Visit / Vacation - August 2006
A family visit from Lorrie, Tho, Nickee, and Yennie for a couple of days in August.  Lots of fun, food, and of course the beach!  Also a day trip to Legoland, where the adults were a little under whelmed with the whole Legoland concept.  Ate a ton of food ...   San Diego County Fair - June 2006
A great trip to the country fair at the Del Mar fairgrounds.  Yennie and mama visited for the trip, and had a blast!  First time Ryan and I have went to the country fair, and we spent the day looking at the exhibits, buying stuff from the vendors (my nails are prudy!) and eating lots of fried food.  Fried avocados, fried tomatoes, fried Twinkies, and a fried snickers bar.  Yum!		  
   
  Dinner Party with Co-Workers - June 2006
Ryan, master chef, hosted two dinner parties in June with his Qualcomm co-workers.  Ryan's menu included Montreal Salmon, prosciutto-wrapped asparagus, jasmine rice, and wasabi-lime dipping sauce.  Dinner was preceded by caviar and other hors d'oeuvres.  A decadent chocolate cake from Extraordinary Desserts finished the evening.		  
   
  Chau & Mike's Wedding - March 2006
A short trip up to the Bay Area for the wedding of Chau & Mike.  These two have been dating for years, and finally decided to tie the knot.  We wish the two of them all the best.  Also pop-ed in to see Lisa and family, who we haven't seen since our Cancun trip.		  
 

 
  New York City - Christmas 2005
What a trip!  Christmas in the big apple was wonderful.  No snow, but it sure was cold and rained a bit.  But that didn't damper our spirits.  We stayed in the Westin Times Square (featured on The Apprentice Martha Stewart) and had a breathtaking view from our room of the Empire State building, the West Side, and Times Square buildings.  We arrived during the transit strike where busses and the subway was not working, but we found it easy to walk about the city, and it was less crowded.  Luckily the strike ended early and we were able to get around to some other great places.  View the picture gallery to see all the places we visited, and the news page for a detailed account of the trip.		  
   
  San Francisco Trip - Quang & Sara's Wedding  - October 2005
A quick weekend trip up to SF to visit friends Randy, Seb, Trang and Rose.  Stayed at the W San Francisco with a wonderful corner room overlooking the SF bay.  We had a great dinner with Randy & Seb and got to see their architecturally stunning loft.  Then it was a great day in the city with Trang, and off to Quang & Sara's wedding Saturday evening in Cupertino.		  
   
  Chau & Mike Visit - Plus Qualcomm Party - October 2005
Chau and Mike came down to San Diego for a weekend visit to see our new, swank apartment.  Then it was off to the Qualcomm QCT division party, where we watched Cirque de Solei - type circus acts, had fabulous food, and mingled with co-workers.  It was then off to the W San Diego for drinks at the Sand Bar on the roof.  La Jolla and shopping was in order the next day.		  
   
  Binh, Yvonne & Mamma - Labor Day Weekend 2005
A great visit from Binh, Yvonne and Mamma for a fun weekend of walking, eating, and sight seeing.  We started with a trip to Bronx Pizza the night before.  Attended a birthday party for Brianne, the daughter of Ann & Mark Wieczorek on Sunday morning.  It was then off to La Jolla for a fab lunch overlooking the cove.  We then headed off to the races, horse races at the Del Mar race track, where it was the first time we've bet on horses or seen a horse race.  Binh & Yvonne then headed off to Las Vegas.		  
 

 
  San Jose Trip - Staying at Nicole's
Ryan and I went up for our routine dentist visit in San Jose and stayed with Nicole this time.  Trang was bumming out at Nicole's too, so we got to hang out as a group and have fun.  It was fantastic seeing baby Katlyn ... she's so adorable.  We then had a large dinner at Hawg's Seafood downtown, where we were able to catch up with family and friends.  Ryan learned a lesson this visit, and Eric's teeth turned out fine.		  
 

 
  Day Trip - The Getty Museum in LA
Ryan and I decided to take a day trip up to visit mom in Chino Hills, then a quick drive over to The Getty Museum.  This ultra-modern structure sits atop a hill looking over Los Angeles.  Its impressive and eclectic art collection and garden grounds, made for a wonderful Saturday afternoon.  We were so impressed with the parking and tram ride up, we're likely to visit again!		  
 

 
  Dinner Parties with Co-Workers

  Trang & Nicole Visit San Diego
We had a fabulous time hosting a visit by Trang and Nicole in July.  They were our first guests to be pampered in luxury for their multi-night stay, where they got the tour of San Diego's beaches and eateries.  But Nicole missed baby Katlyn so it was back to San Jose after their quick, whirl-wind visit.		  
 

 
  Cancun - July 2005!
A fantastic trip to Cancun in July with Jen, Jim, Mike and Chau.  We had an awesome time fighting with hotel staff, sleeping on small hard beds, bartering for local wares, hitting the beach / island, seeing the ruins of both Tulum and Chichen Itza, and hanging out with Lisa's family.  Only rained one day, and even that didn't damper our spirits.  Jen & Jim also have lots of photos on their web site.  More details of our adventures on our news page.		  
   
  Hollywood Tour with Anna and Mom:
Anna is visiting from Texas and staying the summer with mom & Tuan in Chino Hills. So it was time to do the touristy thing again, this time braving the crowds of Hollywood Blvd.  Mann's Chinese Theater, the Walk of Stars, the Hollywood Wax Museum, Ripley's Museum, and then a Hollywood Stars home tour.  What a long, but fun day.  The wax museum was a blast, seeing all the stars from various movies.  The star home tours was a bit long, and as you'll see in the pictures, mainly front gates and shrubs.  Don't ask me to remember which home belonged to which star ... I can't.  I only remember that Arron Spelling had the biggest home.		  
 

 
  Hawaii - May 2005 for Jen & Jim's Wedding:
What a fantastic wedding and wonderful vacation to Hawaii.  This is our 2nd trip to Hawaii, still visiting the island of Oahu.  This time we stayed at the W Honolulu having fantastic views of Diamondhead.  Then it was off to the Kahala Mandarin for Jen & Jim's ceremony.  What a fantastic ocean-side wedding.  We also did the tourist stuff like snorkeling and hiking Diamondhead.  And don't forget Jennifer's Wedding dress Expose ... from "I Want to I Do"		  
 

 
  Disneyland - Easter Weekend - 2005:
What a wonderful day with Lisa, Arthur, Cynthia and Cameron at Disneyland!  Ryan had never been to Disneyland, so he was in for a real treat.  We had a wonderful breakfast with Disney characters visiting our table.  Then it was off to Disneyland ... with all the other throngs of people.  The monorail was down, so we had to battle through the main park entrance.  It was so busy that we didn't get to go on any rides ... lines were too long.  But the day was complete with a visit to Westminster and 7-course fish.  Did Ryan have enough of Disneyland?  Yes.		  
 

 
  New Year 2005 in San Francisco:
A fantastic trip to see Ryan's family in Sacramento, then over to the bay area for Nicole's baby shower ... Eric's belly is as big as Nicole's ... and then ringing in the new year with Jen and Jim.  Boy are we tired from all the traveling this holiday season!		  
 

 
  Baton Rouge Christmas:
Spending Christmas with my sister Tiffany, her husband Jeff, and my family in Baton Rouge.  Went to visit a plantation as well.		 Hailey's 1st Birthday!
Happy birthday to Dave and Denise's daughter, Hailey.  Little "destructo" is 1yr. old.

For Eric's birthday we drove up to Chino Hills to see Tuan's newly-remodeled house, complete with pool.  On to Bolsa for some fantastic seafood.  The next day, Binh, Yvonne, mom and dada came down to San Diego for a quick visit.  Here are the pictures of that sunny, happy day.

  Binh & Yvonne's Wedding - August 14, 2004
What a fantastic trip to Sacramento to visit Ryan's family and witness Binh and Yvonne tie the knot!  Hooray!  All you can eat sushi, seeing all the kids, meeting Yvonne's side of the family ... it all amounted for a fun-filled trip for us.  Movies of the happy couple and dance floor will be posted soon, and here's also a link to Tho & Lorrie's pictures.

  4th of July at Hai & Jeff's
What better way to watch big things that go bang in the night, than to have a fireworks party at Hai & Jeff's newly remodeled house!  Can't wait till the interior design stuff is all finished!  It is awesome as is already!  So when can Eric, Ryan and Tiger move in?		  
   
  Sacramento and Bay Area Trip!
Our June trip up to Sacramento to see Ryan's family, hang out, and re-claim the Honda.  (Need two cars if Ryan starts working again...)  Then it was over to the Bay Area to check out Jennifer's wedding dress (fabulous!), and for a day of shoe shopping with Trang, Nicole, Jim, and Jennifer.  Shoes?  Yes, but our lips are sealed as to why.  For more pictures, check out Jim's photo album of the trip.

Tiffany & Jeff's Wedding:
In April it was off to Baton Rouge for my sister Tiffany's wedding to Jeff.  Held at a replica Louisiana plantation, the outdoor wedding was a sight to behold.  Tiffany looked so gorgeous in wedding gown, and Jeff so handsome in this tux.  The reception was held onsite and was a great mixture of local cuisine.  We wish Tiffany and Jeff all the best!

  
 

 
 

Mike & Family Visit to San Diego
Ryan's brother, Mike and his family visited for the weekend.  Although it was a little cold and overcast, we had a blast at Sea World watching Shamu, sharks, penguins, and other sea creatures.  Then it was off to the beach ... colder than Santa Cruz ... for some trial boogie boarding by Asia.

...friends getting together at Yulin's place to celebrate the 2004 New Year, the Year of the Monkey!  What do you get when you have a houseful of white men and some gorgeous Asian boys straight from the rice patties?  It's a Hot Pot baby!  Yeah!  We stuffed our faces with hot pot delicacies and then danced the night away.  Check out the 'Solid Gold' dancers of the 80's.
